I completed my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry at the University of Oxford and carried out my fourth-year research project on kinetochore proteins in trypanosome parasites under the supervision of Bungo Akiyoshi. During this project I gained a particular interest in structural and mechanistic biology and enjoyed exploring the fundamental rules of eukaryotic cell biology using an unconventional organism. My current work in the lab focusses on dissecting microtubule motor function in Plasmodium falciparum, after completing a rotation in the Sunter Lab, Oxford Brookes University.
